Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT)
SSNIT is a statutory national trust responsible for the administration of Ghana’s national pension scheme. It has been in the social security business since 1965. Currently, the trust is the biggest financial institution in the country with a membership of over one million and a hundred thousand registered pensioners on its pension scheme.
The institution’s core mandate is to replace lost income due to old age, invalidity and the payment of survivors’ benefits to dependants of a deceased contributor.
